Mission &
Scope
Since 1986, the International Conference on Residual Stresses (ICRS) has been the premier global venue for advancements in residual stress science and technology. ICRS unites researchers, industry leaders, and service providers for an open exchange of cutting-edge ideas and state-of-the-art practices.
Conference topics span advanced measurement techniques, modeling developments, and the critical effects of residual stress on structural integrity. Historically, many of the field's most significant breakthroughs were first introduced at an ICRS.
Held nominally every four years, the conference rotates among Europe, America, and Asia/Oceania; however, it is temporarily shifting to a three-year cycle to recover from pandemic-related delays.
